This policy explains the types of information TruMingle processes, why we use it, when it may be visible or shared, and the choices connected with your account and profile.

Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information processed through TruMingle's website, account features, dating features, moderation systems, and related services. The information processed depends on which features you use and the choices you make.

Information TruMingle processes

Information you provide

When you create and use a TruMingle account, you may provide information such as your email address, date of birth, username, display name, gender, relationship status and goals, profile description, interests, profile prompts, dating preferences, and other profile details.

You may also provide photos and optional information about characteristics or preferences such as height, weight, children, smoking, drinking, pets, and the types of people or relationships you are interested in finding.

Location information

TruMingle uses location information to support features such as local discovery, geographic dating pages, and distance-based matching. The service is designed around approximate location information such as country, region, city, postal area, and coarse geographic coordinates rather than a member's precise street-level location.

Your location information may be used to determine which members or geographic areas are relevant to you and, where applicable, which location information can appear with your profile.

Photos and profile content

Photos you upload are associated with your profile and may be stored in private object storage while TruMingle applies access and moderation rules. Photos may be reviewed, approved, rejected, or removed as part of operating and moderating the service.

Profile information and approved photos may be shown to other members. If your profile is eligible for public visibility and the applicable visibility settings allow it, some profile information and photos may also be available to people who are not signed in.

Your activity and communications

TruMingle processes information about how you use dating features, including Likes, passes, Matches, Messages, Blocks, and Reports. This information is used to provide the features you request, maintain conversation and matching state, enforce blocking, and support safety and moderation.

Messages are not public profile content, but they are processed and stored as necessary to provide the messaging service and may be relevant when TruMingle investigates reports, abuse, security issues, or violations of site rules.

Safety, moderation, and administrative records

When members submit reports, TruMingle may process the identities of the reporting and reported accounts, the report reason, details supplied with the report, review status, moderator notes, and related timestamps.

TruMingle may also maintain moderation and administrative records concerning actions such as photo review, account suspension or banning, and authorized administrative activity. These records help operate, secure, and enforce the rules of the service.

Account, authentication, and security information

TruMingle processes information needed to authenticate accounts, maintain sessions, verify email addresses, reset passwords, limit abusive requests, and protect account and service security. Passwords are handled using password hashes rather than storing passwords as readable text.

Security and anti-abuse systems may process technical information associated with requests. TruMingle also uses Cloudflare Turnstile on certain account flows to help distinguish legitimate requests from automated abuse.

How we use information

We use information to create and maintain accounts and profiles; provide discovery, matching, Likes, Messages, blocking, and other dating features; deliver account-related communications; and remember or apply member preferences.

We also use information to moderate photos and accounts, review reports, enforce the Community Guidelines and Terms of Use, prevent or investigate abuse, maintain service security, diagnose problems, and operate and improve TruMingle.

Profile visibility and search engines

Dating profiles are designed to be seen by other people, but public web visibility is separate from ordinary member visibility. TruMingle's profile controls include a members-only setting and a public setting, and public search-engine visibility requires additional eligibility and visibility conditions.

If a profile becomes publicly accessible, information shown on that public profile may be viewed without signing in and may be discovered, cached, or indexed by search engines and other third-party services. Search engines and other third parties control their own copies and indexes, so changes on TruMingle may not immediately remove information from third-party results.

Information is shared with other members or the public when that sharing is part of the dating and profile features you use and is permitted by the applicable visibility rules.

TruMingle also relies on service providers and infrastructure providers to operate parts of the service, including hosting, database, email-delivery, anti-abuse, location, and object-storage functions. Those providers may process information as necessary to perform services for TruMingle.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or legal process; protect the rights, security, and integrity of TruMingle, its members, or others; or investigate fraud, abuse, or safety concerns.

Analytics, advertising, cookies, and similar technologies

TruMingle may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies when they are needed for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, advertising, or other site functions. The technologies in use may change as the service develops.

Analytics and advertising services may be introduced or changed over time. When TruMingle activates services that require additional disclosures or privacy choices, we will update the applicable privacy information and provide consent or choice mechanisms where required.

Retention, deactivation, and deletion

TruMingle retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the service, maintain account and feature state, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and address safety, fraud, or abuse concerns. The appropriate retention period can differ depending on the type of information and why it is processed.

Account deactivation and account deletion are distinct states. Deactivation can make an account inactive without necessarily deleting its records. Deletion may also require some information to be retained where reasonably necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute, or enforcement purposes.

Data security

TruMingle uses technical and organizational measures intended to protect information and limit unauthorized access. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so members should also protect their login credentials and use care when deciding what information to share with other people.

Adults only

TruMingle is intended only for adults age 18 or older. People under 18 are not permitted to create or use a TruMingle account. If you believe an underage person is using the service, please report the account or use our Contact and Support resources.

International use

TruMingle can be used by members in different countries. Depending on where you live and how the service is operated, information may be processed in countries other than your own and may be subject to different data-protection rules.

Your choices and privacy questions

Depending on the feature, you may be able to change profile information, preferences, visibility settings, or account state. Privacy rights can also vary by where you live.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as TruMingle changes or as legal, operational, analytics, advertising, or privacy requirements change. The date near the top of this page identifies the version currently posted.
